About

I’m an artist at heart. ever since I was a little girl I’ve created stuff: paintings, drawings, sculptures, and yes, stories. I wrote, illustrated, and ‘bound’ many books for my parents when I was younger, so the urge to write has been with me for many years!

Instead of pursuing a degree in arts when I went to college, I decided to devote my time to my other life-long love: animals. I received a B.S. in Zoology, and the closest I’ve come to using my degree is when I was a veterinary technician for five years. But I still love animals, as is probably evident in my writing. I simply downsized my dreams of being a zookeeper to happily being a pet owner of a needy dog and three needy cats. My two daughters also love animals, and we’d probably own more, but my husband is the practical one in the family.

My favorite hobbies include making art (of course!), reading too many books per month, gardening during the warmer seasons, and playing video games or board games with my family. My anti-hobby is cleaning, because I’m pretty sure I’m allergic to it. My dog, Egon, loves it when I’m sedentary because he is a lap dog through and through. He even will share my lap with a cat if they are so inclined to cuddle.

I was born in the Pacific Northwest, and have resided within it for most of my life. Most of my stories also take place in the region, although they may be alternate versions of the PNW! I live with my husband and two daughters in Oregon.
